Jean Carlo Cerda - World Splicing Record

New World Record Splicing Champion is From New England Sheets

A new world record of 4,082 consecutive, successful splices was set by Jean Carlo Cerdas of New England Sheets.  Jean Carlo Cerdas successfully made every splice he attempted from  November 11, 2013 to July 15 2014.

Representatives from MarquipWardUnited and New England Sheets celebrated the new record with Cerdas on Friday October 10, 2014. Cerdas was presented an embroidered world record jacket and, in keeping with the traditional belt-buckle theme for the MarquipWardUnited Century Club,  a World Champion Splicer Operator Belt.

The record was set in coordination with the MarquipWardUnited Century Club Program in which operators are recognized for achieving 100, 500 and 1000 consecutive splices without a miss.  Enrollment in the program requires a training session with MarquipWardUnited Splicer Trainer John Podmolik, who audits the machines, materials and practices before providing detailed instructions on getting the best out of a MarquipWardUnited machine.

Cerdas’ new world record of 4,082 eclipsed the previous world record of 3,741 splices without a miss set by Tony Jimenez of Independence Corrugated, Oak Creek, Wisconsin on March 10, 2014. It is no coincidence that both recent world reord holders are from Schwarz Partner Plants. Independence Corrugated commissioned software to automatically track, and continuously display operator performance by machine.  This technolgy and the Century Club Program has been embraced by all Schwarz Partner facilities with many operators now over the 2,000 mark and counting.
